ACTIVITIES

The organisation of LTTAs has been planned having in mind that one of the essential aspects of a European project is its cultural and interactional component. Therefore, by organising such events, we intend to bring students from different regions of Europe and have them work together in multicultural teams, share opinions and ideas face to face, experience the lifestyle of their peers from other countries and observe the cultural and educational differences which are quintessential to the concept of a united Europe.
certain skills and abilities which would not be possible in a monocultural environment.
As well as this, we also need to stress the linguistic value of such meetings. By being in contact with peers from other countries, students will communicate in English, which will help them improve their language skills. They will listen to the others actively, read materials designed in English, write in English to complete feedback forms and evaluation forms, speak to deliver presentations and interactively. By organising these transnational meetings, the learning experience becomes more meaningful, as participants learn about local cuisine, customs, traditions, geographical features, specific problems.
As far as the topic is concerned, we believe that by having students work together to develop mobile apps, we will gain an insight into their interests, their way of thinking, and the event will represent a simulation of a real multicultural work environment that some students will probably be part of in the future. The LTTAs will also provide us with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills that our peers from Greece already have in terms of developing mobile apps,; since we will try to implement the same clubs locally as part of our sustainability plan, a first-hand experience of how it is run will prove invaluable.
Besides the topic of the project itself, the opportunity to take part in these exchanges will also function as a great motivator for students to get involved in all the stages of the project, especially since a lot of our students have never had the chance to travel abroad so far.

Therefore, we planned to organise 4 such exchanges, each with specific topics and objectives, as detailed below.
C1 - PL - Feb 2018: Basics of Android studio
C2 - RO - May 2018: The 12 steps to creating a mobile app
C3 - TK - Oct 2018: Developing mobile apps for school purposes
C4 - GR - Mar 2019: A project mobile app entitled "A journey through Europe"

MOBILE APPLICATIONS TO EASE LEARNING FOR STUDENTS

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT We live in a digital era in which students can hardly imagine life without mobile phones and computers. There have been widespread debates on the topic and most of the times mobile phones are blamed for eating up most of the students' free time, affecting their capacity to concentrate on school work or even alienating individuals. While this may be true, on the other had, if we are to be 100 percent honest, we need to acknowledge that the future will definitely belong to the digital world and a pressing need to help students learn how to manage and use all kinds of mobile applications has arisen, whether we, as teachers born several decades ago, may  or may not want to admit it. Therefore, the project was elaborated to respond to the needs of our students to acquire and improve their know-how in terms of developing mobile applications, a skill which they will use even after the school years, no matter what careers they may choose to follow. We want to ...

PARTNERS

The project partners were chosen in accordance with their stated interest in improving students' digital literacy, which was the result of local analyses carried out. At first, the partnership was established between Romania and Greece, whose profile and areas of knowledge are similar - a focus on the improvement of digital skills through the development of mobile applications. In the next stage, the two countries used social media and e-Twinning to start looking for schools with the same interest. In this way, we found the schools in Italy, Turkey and Poland. Among the criteria for the selection of partners were the willingness to participate, the profile of the school and of the students, the age of students, the promptness in replying e-mails and posts and then the contribution to the development of the project idea. The coordinating school presented the project idea, a draft of the timeline of events and the contents of the transnational meetings, after which all partners were...
